Our faith

At St Nicholas, the life of our church family is centred around three things

Loving God

We believe in God as He is revealed to us in the Bible, His word to us. In response to the good news of Jesus Christ’s death, resurrection and ascension we joyfully strive to love, worship and follow Him in every area of our lives.

Loving each other

As a family of God’s people, we seek to love each other as we have been loved by God, with kindness, forgiveness and grace. We gather to worship together, to listen to God’s word and to encourage each other to live out our faith in obedience to God.

Loving our community

We love Tooting in all its vibrant diversity, and we seek to serve our community as we share the life-changing good news of Jesus.

As a Church of England Church, we hold to the Anglican beliefs described in the historical creeds of the church, the 39 Articles and The Book of Common Prayer (see here). We belong to the Diocese of Southwark and come under the oversight of the Bishop of Ebbsfleet. We are a member of the London Gospel Partnership.
